What occurs during a Tarot reading varies greatly depending on the reader. My suggestion to anyone considering a reading is to reach out to the reader beforehand to learn more about their approach.

For instance, personally, I don't engage in strict fortune-telling or make decisions on behalf of my clients. Instead, I assist them in framing their questions to the cards in a manner that allows them to explore their current situation and desired outcomes.

During the reading itself, I view the process as a collaborative endeavor. I utilize the cards as prompts to help the client uncover their own underlying motivations and behavioral patterns. By examining how the cards interact with each other, we gain insight into how various aspects of their situation are interconnected. While a reading may not always reveal new information, it often presents familiar insights in a way that empowers the client to move forward. Sometimes, it simply provides confirmation of what they already know but needed validation on.

One might easily attribute it to the Barnum effect – where any card or set of cards could seemingly apply to any situation. However, my experience tells me otherwise. I cannot fully explain how it happens, but the right cards consistently emerge for the right person. I have encountered this phenomenon countless times over the 17 years of tarot reading.

One particularly striking instance involved a woman I read for during my early practice. Despite reshuffling the cards multiple times, we consistently drew the same six cards – a remarkable occurrence that left a lasting impression. While such occurrences are rare, they highlight the unique connection between the cards and the individual.
